The Picnic Scarf was a paid pattern until now. I’ve decided to make this pattern FREE. The scarf is easy and would make a great first time project for a beginner.
You can view the pattern below for FREE or you can purchase the PDF HERE to print without ads for $1.

1. Read pattern instructions carefully before beginning.
2. This pattern requires 3 colors. I have labeled them A, B and C.
3. This scarf can be made any size you’d like by chaining a multiple of 2 plus 1.
With color A ch 21
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and every st across. (20sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn *Dc, sc. Repeat from* to end. (20sts)
Row 3-10: repeat row 2.
Row 11: Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
Row 12-16: Change to color C. Repeat row 2.
Row 17: Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
Row 18: Change to color A. Repeat row 2.
Repeat row 2 with color A until scarf measures approx. 53 inches.
Note: You can make this section longer or shorter if you’d like.
You will now end with the same stripe pattern you started with but in reverse.
Row 1: Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
Row 2-6: Change to color C. Repeat row 2.
Row 7: Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
Row 8-16: Change to color A. Repeat row 2.

Fasten off, weave in all ends.
