Introducing the Lost Valley Top. This design is a simple play on textures. The main body of the top is done in sold stitch (which is still light) while the sleeves are done in an open mesh pattern.
The pattern is rated intermediate. The shaping is simple but the uncommon stitch (which is easy to pick up) bumps up the skill level. It’s constructed from the top down with seams at the sleeves. The seams add stability and also allow you to play with color by making the sleeves a different color from the rest of the sweater.
The pattern comes in girls sizes 2(4, 6, 8, 10) to fit a chest of 21″(23″, 25″, 26″, 28″) and women’s sizes XS(S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X) to fit a bust of 28″(32″, 36″, 40″, 44″, 48″, 52″).
The Lost Valley Top is done in Plymouth Jeannee Worsted which is a cotton/acrylic blend. You will need 3(4, 5, 5, 6) skeins for girl sizes and 6(7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) skeins for women’s sizes.
