Willapa Shawl Crochet Pattern | KT and the Squid

The Willapa Shawl shawl was designed by accident. A while ago I was playing with short rows to try to add some texture to my fabric and came up with this fun (and easy!) trim. I happen to be testing out Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca so I thought the two would be perfect for a little shawl. You might even call it a shawlette because of the size 😉

The Willapa Shawl is a pretty simply asymmetrical shawl but the short row trim adds a little something extra. The great thing is you can make it larger by continuing in pattern.

Yarn

Like I said I used Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca. This is the worsted weight but it would also be fun to sub for the light with the appropriate hook. I love that Ultra Alpaca is a blend. You get the softness of the alpaca but with the addition of the wool it keeps you from over heating and also adds strength to the yarn. You can read my full review soon!
