Designer Program

From time to time I may send out calls for specific designs. You can sign up to receive these calls straight to your email.

As a designer myself I appreciate all the hard work that goes into bringing well written beautiful designs to the masses. That’s why I’ve decided to start the KT and the Squid Designer Program. There are a few ways to participate.

Yarn Support

Got a great knit or crochet design idea that you think would be perfect for my yarn? If you are an established designer and I like your idea I will provide yarn at no cost to bring your idea to life. I will be accepting designs on a case by case basis. You are responsible for self-publishing your design on the agreed upon date.

If this sounds absolutely perfect to you contact me at [email protected] with the following information.

• Name and or business name
• Design description with yarn weight, approximate yardage needs, and color ideas (if you have an existing colorway of mine in mind that would be perfect!)
• Sketches and or swatches.
• Approximate release date (this can be adjusted if needed)

All design ideas must be new and original. Designs may be knit or crochet.

 

KT and the Squid Website Vendor

If I absolutely love your idea I may ask you to become a website vendor. In this case you keep the rights to your original pattern (you may sell/giveaway the pattern on other sites such as Ravelry or your own site) and allow me to sell the pattern on ktandthesquid.com. You will receive a 60% commission for each pattern sold plus an extra fee for any other extra promotions we decide on ($50-$100 depending on design and promotion).

Vendors are responsible for tech editing and testing patterns. I may ask to borrow the sample to take my own photos (which you are welcome to use).

All design ideas must be new and original. For this option I’m interested in beginner to intermediate designs. Larger and smaller designs will be considered. Adult sweaters and accessories are my jam. If you are thinking of doing a garment please include a wide range of sizes.
