I designed this scarf for the charity drive because I know when I make things for charity I want them to be quick, easy and most of all something someone would love to wear for the winter. There are a couple great things about this pattern 1. You can make it any size and use any yarn with appropriate sized hook. 2. There are NO ends to weave in!

If you’re not a big fan of the herringbone double crochet we can’t be friends! Kidding! If you don’t like it you can easily swap it out for your favorite stitch 😉 A simple swap to double crochet (or any common stitch) will change the difficulty to easy.

Notes

This scarf can be made in any size by changing the number of foundation stitches to any number and working as many rows as you’d like.

At the end of each row you will fasten off and begin the next row starting at the beginning of the previous row.

Leave a yarn tail approximately 5-6″ long on either side of the rows.

Special Stitches
Foundation Single Crochet (Fsc): Ch 2, insert hook into the 2nd ch from hook, yarn over, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 1 loop on hook (this makes the ch), yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook (completes the sc).

Next Fsc: Insert hook under the 2 loops of the ch of the last st and pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 1 loop, yarn over pull through 2 loops.

Herringbone Double Crochet (Herr dc): Yarn over, insert hook into st indicated, yarn over, pull through st AND 1st loop on hook, yarn over, pull through 1 loop, yarn over pull through last 2 loops.
