The Aviva Scarf is a free crochet pattern featuring colorways from my Aviva Collection. This scarf is easy enough for a beginner and light weight which makes it perfect to wear into Spring.

Im so happy with how this scarf came out! It’s worked in the bias so it’s fun and interesting. Mix and match colorways from the Aviva Collection. I’m excited to see the colors everyone chooses!


One Size

Approx. 70” long by 10” wide.



2 skeins KT and the Squid: Twist Squid Sock (85% superwash merino/ 15% nylon; 360 yards/100g; fine/sock weight)

1 skein KT and the Squid: Twist Squid Sock Squidlet

Color A: BLossom

Color B: Slate

Color C: Pixie (squidlet)

G/4.0mm Furls Streamline hook (or hook to obtain gauge)


Ch = chain

St(s) = stitch(es)

Sc = single crochet



This scarf is worked with slanted rows.


On each row one end will decrease (skip 1 sc) while the other end increases (an extra ch 1). 



26 sts by 25 rows = 4” square blocked


Gauge Pattern

Ch an odd number

Row 1: sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in the next ch; repeat from * until 1 ch remains, sc in the last ch.

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st, *ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 space; repeat from * to the last ch-1 space, sc in the last sc. 

Repeat row 2 to desired length

Stripe Pattern: *Work 1 row of color A, 1 row of color B, 1 row of color C; repeat from * until the Squidlet (color C) runs out (about “), Work 2 rows in color A, 2 rows color B; repeat from * until your desired length or until you run out of yarn

Carry yarn, do not fasten off. To change color work to the last step of the last st of the row, complete the stitch with the new color.


With color A ch 72. (or any even number to desired length)

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sc in the next, skip 1 sc in the next; repeat from * until 2 chains remain, sc in the last 2. 71

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st sc, skip 1 sc, *sc in the next ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * until 1 sc remains, sc in the last. 71

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st sc, *ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 space; repeat from * until 2 sc remain, skip 1 sc (do NOT ch), sc in the last sc. 71


Repeat rows 2 and 3 following the stripe pattern until the scarf is your desired length or you run out of yarn.


Fasten off, weave in ends.
