Time Traveler Scarf Free Crochet Pattern

The Time Traveler Scarf free crochet pattern is designed to showcase the beautiful color changes of the self-striping yarn Safari from King Cole while incorporating the technique of short rows. The result is a unique and eye-catching accessory that is both stylish and fun to make. If you need a little help I’ve also included a video tutorial.

I highly recommend using a yarn this self-striping. The pattern will work best with a yarn that has long color repeats, as this will create the most striking effect. You will also need a crochet hook that is appropriate for the weight of your yarn.

This scarf is made using the short row technique to create the unique pattern. To do this, you will work across a certain number of stitches, then turn the work and work back across a smaller number of stitches. This will create a curve that gradually widens and then narrows again.

As you work the short rows, the colors of the self-striping yarn will gradually shift and blend together, creating a beautiful effect.

This pattern is easily adjusted. Continue working short rows back and forth until the scarf reaches your desired length. Finally, add a fringe if desired, and weave in any loose ends.

This crochet scarf pattern is a great way to experiment with the short row technique and make the most of a self-striping yarn. It’s also a fun and relaxing project that is perfect for both beginner and experienced crocheters alike
