These stitch markers will be made to order and typically ship within 5 business days.
As much as I’d like to think I can crochet without stitch markers some patterns make them a must. I designed these stitch markers when I was working on a project and got tired of having to deal with a fiddly clasp every time I needed to move the stitch marker I was working with. I admit my dexterity isn’t what it used to be having to open and close a clasp every row was not working for me.
With these handmade stitch markers all you have to do is slide them in (the longer leg makes this super easy!) and they stay put until you’reĀ ready to move it, simply slide them out. I use them for my crochet but they will also fit a knitting needle up to about 6mm.
These stitch markers are handmade from anodized aluminum. I carefully sand and buff several times during the process to ensure they are snag free and work the metal so they are strong and wont easily bed out of shape. I find this design works best for DK, worsted and bulky yarn. I have used them with sock weight but find you do need to grab a bit more fabric to keep them in place. While you can slightly open them if you need to make more room to slide the yarn in I recommend not messing with them too much as bending the medal will create weak spots.
Each marker also has a cute hand stamped heart to remind you they were made with love and care.
Here are a few ways I like to use stitch markers.
1. Keep track of how many stitches or rows you have (makes counting easier!)
2. Mark the right or wrong side of your project.
3. Mark were you need to seam something.
4. Mark any pattern changes such as increases or decreases or where specified in your pattern.
5. Keep your work (mostly crochet) from unraveling if you need to set your project down.
