The Heywood CAL starts today! Before we can dive into the pattern we need to measure our gauge. If you want your cowl to come out the right size it’s important to not skip this step!

Gauge

For this pattern you will need your gauge to measure  25 sc by 30 rows = 4” square blocked

I striped my gauge swatch working 2 rows of color A and 2 rows of color B. This isn’t really necessary but if you are using 2 different brand yarns it’s probably a good idea. This is the striping pattern we’ll use for the actual cowl.

If you’re new to checking your gauge THIS POST may be helpful.

What should you do now?

Step 1: Pop into the KT and the Squid Official Group and share a photo of your gauge swatch in the appropriate thread. Each photo you share for each part of the CAL will count as an entry into the final giveaway! More info about this will come later.

Step 2: Update your Ravelry project page.

I’ll be back on Friday with the next step!
