Shelton Cowl Free Knit Pattern | KT and the Squid

This post contains affiliate links

Lately, I’m obsessed with these little circular shawl/cowl hybrids. I decided to give a knit one a shot with some Knit Picks Brava I had for a yarn review. I’m pretty much in love with how it came out. The best thing is it only took one skein! Continue reading Shelton Cowl Free Knit Pattern | KT and the Squid

Doty Knit Shawl/Scarf Free Pattern | KT and the Squid

I designed this shawl for those beautiful striped yarns out there. The Doty Shawl is asymmetrical and starts with just s few stitches. I love how the stripes get thinner as the shawl gets wider. The great thing is you can use any yarn and any appropriate size needles.

Easy Braided Headband: Free Crochet Pattern

I recently completely organized ALL my yarn. I quickly realized I had a TON of little scrap balls. You know the ones I’m talking about, right? The ones that aren’t small enough to throw away but so small you’re not quite sure what to do with them. I started thinking of some ways to use them up. Bob’s! Easy Tweed Blanket (free pattern)

This year my goal was to make a blanket for everyone in my family. I made it in at the last second with my final blanket for my dad (Bob!). I wanted to make this one simple and fuss free just like my dad so I let the kiddos pick the colors (I think they did an exceptional job) and I picked a simple stitch. Continue reading Bob’s! Many amazing hats start with a basic base. I have written up a Free Simple Single Crochet Hat Pattern and am happy to share it here. Whip up these simple hats and leave them as is or add embellishments to turn them into character hats or whatever you’d like! These would also make great hats for charity. Some people keep water and granola bars in their cars for the homeless. Why not hats as well? Continue reading Free Simple Single Crochet Hat Pattern

Quick and Easy Preemie Hat

Ever save tiny little balls of yarn just because you hate to throw them away? Well I do! I’ve found the perfect use for them is to make little preemie hats to donate. I know a lot of people think about this during the holidays but hospitals take donations all year round. The pattern uses worsted weight yarn which most crocheters hand on hand. Testers said it took about 10 minutes so it’s really easy to make a bunch in a small amount of time. Continue reading Quick and Easy Preemie Hat

Free Peek of Color Crochet Rug Pattern

How about a free pattern today?
I wrote this pattern a while ago and l really like this stitch. It’s fun and could be done in several color combinations to match any décor. This rug is nice a cushy because you use two strands of worsted weight yarn held together.  I used Red Hear Super Saver (less than 1 skein of each color) but I imagine it would be nice in cotton as well. I think I’ll make a second one for the kid’s bathroom in bright cotton yarn 🙂 Continue reading Free Peek of Color Crochet Rug Pattern
